TinyTableauTip: Unicode Characters in KPI’s

If you want to spice up your KPI’s in Tableau – you can copy/paste unicode characters (including colorful ones) into your calculations.

Or you can paste them when you format format a number – and select Custom formatting.

The syntax is “0;-0” by default, but if you add an extra ; in the end, you can also show something if there is no positive or negative change. The syntax is then “positive;negative;no change”.
