TinyTableauTip – Summer Guest Host Series
Guest Host: Agata Mężyńska – Cool Web Authoring Tips You Didn’t Know About
The TinyTableauTip summer series is back with the third guest host from the Tableau community! I’m excited to welcome Agata, a long-time #DataFam participant and frequent tip battler over time for me.
📚 Web Authoring Tips
In her first part of TinyTableauTip (more is coming later), she is focusing on Web Authoring tips and tricks, the once you didn’t know existed – and is not very well documented.
Interesting that there are so many things you can do – but you do need to know how to do it! And more interesting is that you can do some things in Web Authoring that you can’t do on desktop (check my previous sessions on TinyTableauTip for that!).
First Agata is showing how to adjust labels – without the alignment option available – in a Doughnut Chart.
Then she is showing a cool trick to replace the same measure in a Calculated Field multiple places at once – by using CTRL to multi select (I didn’t even know about that one!).
Then finally, she’s looking at some geographic data in Poland (this works anywhere), where she is using Aliases to fix missing values in the geo role data from Tableau.

A huge thanks to Agata for joining the summer guest host series and sharing these cool and practical techniques! Stay tuned for the next installment, as we continue highlighting amazing community voices and their favorite Tableau tips.
You can also catch one of her previous sessions that I watched live in London, from DataFamEurope (2024) where she’s talking about: How to Improve Inherited Tableau Dashboards
