TinyTableauTip: 2 important dates for any dashboard

There’s 2 dates we always should have on our dashboards to guide/help the end users.

One is when the dashboard data was last refreshed:

Edit your title, add in a descriptive text + the built in “Data Updated Time”

Next, create a calculated field with the “Last xxx Date” – {MAX(YOUR DATE)} (where you find the latest date of i.e. your Order Date:

Add this calculation on Text, adjust/add a descriptive text in a new sheet.

Add this sheet to the dashboard to the joy of your end users (and you’ll limit all the e-mails and phone calls on when the data was updated etc!)
