Iron Quest – Maps – Review session

Over the last months, Sarah Bartlett, has run the Iron Quest challenge on Maps, in collaboration with our new and upcoming Data+Maps TUG.

Iron Quest got 19 submissions and welcomed 11 first-time participants to the project, and last week, the 3 of the 4 co-leaders of Data+Maps TUG joined Sarah in reviewing those submissions (that requested feeback).

Sarah’s blog post on this Iron Quest can be found here, including the video recording of our review that’s published on YouTube.

It was a really fun experience to give feedback to these amazing submissions and all the different ways they incorporated using maps in the vizzes. After 2 years as an Iron Viz judge (2022 + 2024) I have some experience in reviewing these types of vizzes and are always interested in helping others getting their message through – by applying visual best practices. Please reach out if you have a project you’re working on and would like some guidance or feedback!

Happy vizzing!
